Instrumental department of the VII International Music Academy

The Instrumental Department carries out its activities within the framework of the International Music Academy of the Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi. The Department implements a set of educational activities for the gifted young musicians. It is carried out in order to identify, support and develop creatively promising youth, is an effective form of search, support and development of young talented musicians.

The Instrumental Department of the International Music Academy is conducted in accordance with these Provisions (hereinafter referred to as the Provisions). Participation in the Academy means full and unconditional acceptance of these Provisions.

1.1. Academy Organizing Committee
The preparation and holding of the Academy is supervised by the Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi (hereinafter - WIAFS), Artistic Director - Yuri Bashmet, Executive Director - Dmitry Grinchenko.

1.2. Dates and venue
Master classes of the Instrumental Department of the Academy are held on the dates of the festival from 17 to 24 February 2022 in the city of Sochi.
Participants must arrive the day before their specialty masterclasses begin and depart the day after they finish.

2.1. Young musicians from the Russian Federation, Europe and other foreign countries aged from 14 to 25 years at the time of participation (01.02.2022) can take part in the Academy.

2.2. Participation in the Academy's events for participants who have passed the competitive selection is free of charge.

2.3. The membership of the Academy is formed on a competitive basis.

2.4. Participants are obliged to arrive in Sochi on their own according to the dates specified in the invitation sent by the Winter International Arts Festival.

2.5. Travel expenses (from the place of residence to the place of the Academy and back), accommodation expenses of participants and accompanying persons during the Academy are carried out at the expense of the participant or at the expense of the sending party.

2.6. The organizers of the Festival and the Academy reserve the right to establish various scholarships for the most talented young musicians participating in the Academy.

2.7. Participation in the Academy's events for those who have passed the competitive selection (concerts, open lessons) is mandatory.

2.8. Candidates for participation in open lessons and concerts are determined by the teachers of the Academy.

2.9. The program of open lessons is selected from the works submitted by the participants when submitting the application.

2.10. All works must be performed by the participants by heart.

2.11. The organizers provide the participants of the Academy with concertmasters for the duration of their stay in Sochi.

2.12. All events within the academy are held in an open mode with the possibility of public presence.

2.13. The organizers provide an educational and cultural program.

2.14. The organizers assist in obtaining visas for foreign participants of the Academy. This includes issuing an invitation for a participant to the consular department of the Russian Embassy for visa processing. In turn, the Participant undertakes to send, upon request, all documents and necessary information to the Organizers for visa processing. The costs of obtaining a visa are borne by the Participant himself.

2.15. Participants of the Academy receive a pass that gives them the opportunity to attend all events of the Winter International Festival during the Academy. The pass is registered and is the property of the Winter International Arts Festival. The transfer of the pass to a third party is prohibited. The pass gives the right to attend concerts without providing a seat.

2.16. At the request of the participant, the organizers assist in hotel accommodation at special prices of the Winter International Arts Festival.

2.17. The organizers do not provide the participants of the Academy and accompanying persons with any types of insurance. The organizers are not responsible for injuries sustained by the Academy participants and accompanying persons, loss and damage to property during the Academy.

2.18. The participants of the Academy, as well as their legal representatives, confirm by their participation that they have no medical contraindications for participation in the Academy.

The condition for participation in the Academy is the conclusion of gratuitous license agreements with the Winter International Arts Festival by performers of relevant musical works (Article 1308 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation), which also contain an indication that the parties to the agreement have agreed to apply Russian law to the use of objects of related rights created in connection with participation in the Academy.

The participants of the Academy give their consent to conduct television filming of master classes, concerts and other events of the academy with the possibility of further use of the material for the creation of television programs.

In all other cases not stipulated by these Provisions and concerning the use of intellectual property rights, the organizers and participants of the Academy are guided by the civil legislation of the Russian Federation.

The following documents are attached to the application: 1. One digital art photo (portrait type on a neutral background) with a size of at least 2 MB (300 dpi);
2. Copies of the documents certifying the identity of the academy participant (passport, pages with personal data with a photo, as well as information about registration at the place of residence);
3. Short biography (1200-1300 printed characters);
4. A link to a video or DVD recording of a work performed no earlier than December 01, 2021.

6. Duly executed consent to the processing of personal data (in free form, signed by the participant)

The application and the documents attached to it are not returned.
Applications made in violation of the requirements are not considered.
All participants of the Academy must have a compulsory medical insurance policy with them.

In case of disputes arising in the interpretation of these terms of participation in the Academy, the only correct text is the text in Russian.
