Concert of the wind department of the Instrumental Department

For the first time, the entire range of wood and brass groups of wind instruments will be presented at the International Music Academy of the Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi. They are allocated to a separate Department, which will take place in the first week of the festival.

Classes on woodwind instruments are taught by Professor of the Academy of Higher Musical Art of Strasbourg and the Higher School of Music named after H.Eisler in Berlin Silvia Careddu (flute); soloist of the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester Domenico Orlando (oboe); professor of the Manhattan School of Music and guest teacher of the Juilliard School of Music Charles Neidich (clarinet), soloist of the Lyon National Opera Orchestra, professor of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon, visiting professor at Indiana University and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music Carlo Colombo (bassoon).

Classes on brass instruments are conducted by outstanding masters from Switzerland, members of the brass quintet of the Gstaad Festival, regular guests of the Yuri Bashmet festivals in Sochi and Yaroslavl: associate professor of the Lucerne School of Music, soloist of the Basel Symphony Orchestra Immanuel Richter (trumpet); concertmaster of the trombone group in the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, professor of the Zurich University of the Arts David Bruchez (trombone); concertmaster of the French horn group at the Bern Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Professor of the Higher Schools of Music in Lausanne and in Lucerne Olivier Darbellay (French horn) and Professor of the Higher School of Music in Lausanne Daniel Schädeli (tuba).

The final concert of the wind department of the “Instrumental Department of the International Academy” will take place in the Organ Hall on February 22.
