The name of Maestro Yuri Bashmet attracts to Sochi the greatest musicians of our time – virtuosos, soloists, teachers, professors of prestigious educational institutions in Europe, Asia and America, who are ready to share their experience and skill lessons with musicians of the younger generation.
This time, within the framework of the International Music Academy of the XV Winter Festival of Arts, all instrumental specialties of the symphony orchestra will be presented. Therefore, it was decided to allocate an “Instrumental Department” for strings, piano and chamber ensemble.
The classes will be taught by truly outstanding musicians – the largest representative of the Russian violin school, People’s Artist of the USSR, professor of the Moscow Conservatory and the Cologne Higher School of Music (Germany) Viktor Tretiakov; professor of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel and the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp (Belgium) Tatiana Samouil and professor of the Blackmore International Music Academy in Berlin Natalia Likhopoy (violin); former concertmaster in the Herbert von Karajan Orchestra, laureate of the European Parliament Prize, member of the chamber ensembles of the Berlin Philharmonic, Professor of the Berlin University of the Arts Wilfried Strehle (viola); professor of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp Justus Grimm (cello); professor of the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia) and the University of Music and Performing Arts, President of the Slovak Society of Double Bass Players Jan Krigovsky (double bass). The piano class will be taught by a professor, chairman of the examination committee of the Higher School of Music in Paris, founder of the International Association “Artists for Peace” David Lively; chamber ensemble class – teacher of the Moscow Conservatory Ksenia Bashmet.
In the concert of the Instrumental Department, which will take place on February 25, the best students of the International Music Academy will appear on the same stage with the teachers. The All-Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra will take part in the concert. The audience is waiting for a rich and varied program, which includes solo, ensemble and concert works.
